One of our staff members travelled to Moore reef with Sunlover Reef Cruises last month so we thought we'd share a few snaps of hers to show you how great her day was. Along with a few reasons why we love this trip of course!
The Coral and fish life
Sunlover take the conservation of their reef site very seriously indeed and it certainly shows! There is a huge variety of coral to be seen along with lots of amazing fish life. Guests can spot turtles, fish and sometimes sharks here every day. It is seriously stunning.
You can find nemo and his cousins
There isn't just one type of Nemo that live on the Great Barrier Reef and you can spot a lot of them living just off the Sunlover pontoon. No trip out to the reef would be complete without finding this fishy film star and you certainly will on this day.
It's great for nervous snorkellers
Although water babies will certainly enjoy themselves, the set up of the pontoon means that it's great for first time reef trippers or those who aren't as confident swimming. There are rest stations around the reef which provide security and to get in and out of the water you can use the partially submerged platform. Easy peasy!
There's a kids pool!
Got little ones? Then this is the trip for you! Sunlover have a small childrens pool on the side of the pontton, meaning that they can splash around in salt water (and a few brave fish!) safely. You can even pop a mask on and see the reef, meaning that even the smallers of day trippers can enjoy this natural wonder.
Even non-swimmers can get involved
Between the glass botoom boat, semi submarine, touch tank and underwater onservatory even those who don't want to get wet can see the reef in all it's glory.
Getting home can be a bit special
With a floating heli pad near the pontoon, those who want to see the reef from a whole new angle can - with a bonus of getting home fast too! Although you can fly out or take 10/15 minute scenic flights throughoiut the day flying back from the reef really is amazing and hihgly recommended.
