Make your way to Cairns General Aviation Airport for the 45 minute flight to Cooktown with Hinterland Aviation, and enjoy the spectacular views as you fly along the coast between the rainforest and the reef. Please note flight departs at 6.45am (no food or drink provided, early breakfast recommended) On arrival you will be met by Guurrbi Tours and driven to the outskirts of Hope Vale for the Rainbow Serpent Tour with Nugal-warra Elder, Willie Gordon.
Return to Cooktown around 1.15 pm, when you will have the remainder of the afternoon free to explore this beautiful, historic town. You can visit the world-class James Cook Museum, take a stroll down the main street to the Wharf, follow the Aboriginal history of the area on the Milbi Wall, or simply relax on the veranda at Nature’s Powerhouse in the Botanical Gardens. Depart late afternoon for Cairns with Adventure North Australia on the inland road, the Mulligan Highway. Learn about the biggest gold rush in Australian history and the trials of the early white settlers as you travel through the diverse landscape of Far North Queensland’s outback. Arrive back in Port Douglas and Cairns late evening.
